This Privacy Policy covers the Wakory app (iPhone & Apple Watch) and this website.

2. Data Wakory Processes

To analyze your sleep within your chosen wake window, Wakory processes:

Wakory does not write any data back to HealthKit. The app additionally processes local settings data (wake window, reminder times, alarm status) to run the alarm and reminder mechanism.

3. How This Data Is Processed

All processing happens exclusively on-device, on your iPhone and Apple Watch. Wakory is offline-first: there is no backend server, no cloud sync, and no transmission of your health or usage data to us or to any third party. Alarm and reminder state is shared only via a local App Group between the iPhone app, Watch app, and Watch complication — this stays entirely on your device and never leaves it.

4. Health Data: Our Commitment

Wakory will not use, disclose, or share data obtained through HealthKit with third parties for advertising, marketing, or other use-based data mining purposes. Wakory does not sell data obtained through HealthKit to data brokers or other information resellers. HealthKit data is used exclusively to provide the Smart Wake feature.

5. Legal Basis

Processing is based on your explicit authorization granted through iOS system settings (HealthKit access) and on the performance of the functionality you requested (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR); for health data specifically, additionally on your consent (Art. 9(2)(a) GDPR). You can revoke HealthKit access at any time in iOS Settings.

6. Notifications

Arming reminders and alarms are triggered via local notifications (UserNotifications) and AlarmKit. No push server is involved; scheduling happens entirely on your device.

7. No Tracking, No Analytics

Wakory contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. An App Tracking Transparency prompt is not required, as no cross-app or cross-device tracking occurs.

8. This Website

This website does not set cookies and does not embed analytics or tracking scripts. Our hosting provider, mittwald, processes technically necessary server log data (e.g. IP address, timestamp) to serve and secure the site. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in secure operation).

9. Retention & Deletion

All app data remains on your device. You can delete it at any time via the in-app delete function or by uninstalling the app. HealthKit permissions can be revoked at any time in iOS Settings.

10. Your Rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20), and objection (Art. 21). Since Wakory does not transmit data to us, exercising these rights in practice mainly involves your own device settings. For requests, contact us at the email above. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.

11. Changes to This Policy

We will update this Privacy Policy whenever the app's functionality or the legal situation changes. The current version is always available on this page.
